Two Tiffanys celebrating what they love by giving it a stage and using their voices to spread the word.

The Monsters Are Due On CrayonBeats (part 3)

Good morning, readers! I am proud to announce that the third part in my The Monsters Are Due On CrayonBeats compilation series is out TODAY. If you aren’t familiar with this concept compilation series that I have curated, let me briefly explain what it is.

As an 80’s baby and a child of the 90s, I read the Goosebumps books as a kid and, boy, did a lot of them scare me. In my years, I’ve also seen all of The Twilight Zone episodes, and continue to watch the series when it marathons during holidays. Similarly, they are really cool, innovative creations that tell tales involving themes of horror, thriller, science fiction, fantasy, comedy and beyond–they take your mind into strange and scary situations that are based on dream and reality.

Maclane – “Devil’s Knockin’ At My Door”

I knew Maclane could rap and make beats, but I had no idea that he was a singer, too! Yesterday, he surprised me with a brand new song, called “Devil’s Knockin’ At My Door”. Co-produced with Llyght Stevens, the slow, head-nodding beat is mostly powered by crunchy snares and waves of synth, until the hook, when a low, growling bassline sweeps through with rapid hi-hats. With regret in his futuristic R&B voice, Maclane sings about the mistakes he’s made. Stream the song and download for free. Also, check out what he said to me in regards to the song itself.

Rec League – “The Cypher” video

The fellas of the Rec LeagueRob Rush, QM, Maclane, Proe, and Richie Cunning–got up on the mics, with beer in hand, and held their own during a cypher at the Lower Branch, in San Francisco, California. You’ll hear things about temporary rappers, fly penguins, kegels, bath salts, and more, but most importantly, they rep for their (dope) crew. Check it out, and get familiar with these guys if you aren’t already. Shot and edited by Charlie Kaine.

QM & Maclane – “Take Me To Your Liter (The Remixes)” EP

Last year in September, QM and Maclane dropped their Take Me To Your Liter album. Eight months later, on May 9th, they take us to their… remixes! The Remixes features production by Maclane, Grip Grand, TLit, and Llyght Stevens. They also enlisted verses from Proe on the “Celebration” remix and Llyght Stevens on the “Finish The Cup” remix.

Upbeat energies, danceable rhythms, guitar riffs, crispy snares, thumping kick drums, loud claps, throwback samples, and raps marinated in liquor. This is the type of music that you bump when you’re in a good mood, or when you’re gettin’ Beamed up by Jim (you follow?). Stream and download for free. If you didn’t cop the original EP, you need to do that too. It’s all fresh!

Maclane – “Speechless” album

Maclane is a rapper and producer representing the Rec-League crew, and he isn’t new around these parts. In September, he released a collaborative album with QM, titled “Take Me To Your Liter“, and has produced several singles for the Rec. His newest project is an 18-track instrumental album, called “Speechless“, which was released on his birthday on November 19th. This is his gift to you! It’s a style combination of West Coast boom bap, synthed-out electro, and cinematic vibes. Stream it below, and download it for free or donate to his cause.

QM & Maclane – “Juice” video

From their “Take Me To Your Liter” EP, QM & Maclane dropped a new video a couple days ago. This time it’s for the high-energy, beer-soaked party banger, “Juice”, which was filmed at San Francisco’s Bay To Breakers 2012 event. Although naughty bits are censored, this may not be safe for work. Also, pretty sure I spotted Rob Rush in a Mr. Incredible suit. Check it out.

QM & Maclane – “Take Me To Your Liter” EP

@QMRecLeague @ThatDudeMaclane

As of a couple days ago, Rec-League members QM & Maclane‘s “Take Me To Your Liter” EP has landed. All 6 songs were produced entirely by Maclane, who also rhymes alongside QM. With features from Stranger Day, Ernie McCrackin, and Richie Cunning, this project features a party-ready vibe, with danceable beats, poppy hooks, alcohol-induced rhymes, and out-of-this-world presence. This is one of my favorite projects from QM. Get your celebration on. Stream and download for free.

Rob Rush – “Work”

The man that's been putting work behind-the-scenes for the Rec-League (Routine Fly!), Rob Rush, has stepped into the booth for his own solo release. The song is called, "Work". Produced...
