Two Tiffanys celebrating what they love by giving it a stage and using their voices to spread the word.

Blackalicious – “On Fire Tonight” (Ft Myron) video

Straight from their 5th studio album, titled Imani, Vol. 1, one of my long-time favorite groups Blackalicious dropped a NSFW video for “On Fire Tonight”. Featuring singer Myron (of Myron & E) on the soulful hook, the rapid-fire spitting wordsmith Gift of Gab shoots off straight-for-the-jugular raps, over Chief Xcel‘s hard-hitting, horn-blowing, boom bap funk beat. Directed by James Connelly, the music video switches between color (during the hook) and stark black-and-white coloring (during the verses), with beautiful women moving and dancing, while naked and free. It’s strong, sexy, and so dang good. Watch now, and grab that album!

Help Gift of Gab for his “Everything is Fine” video

It’s the gift of, g-g-gift of, gift of ga-ga-gab! You have no idea how amped I was watching this video. Gift of Gab is an emcee from San Francisco, and has been making music for years. He’s also 1/2 of the Bay Area group Blackalicious and 1/5th of the collective Quannum Projects.

He is coming out with a brand new album called, “Next Logical Progression“. YES! In this video, he talks about his new single called “Everything Is Fine”, produced by G Koop. It features some more favorite emcees of mine called Latyrx (Lyrics Born & Lateef the Truthspeaker), and then funk legend George Clinton. Blaow!

ILLUS – “Better” (ft Gift of Gab & Paul Dateh)

The official release date for Illus‘ latest album, “For Adam“, is July 26th. Throughout the weeks, he’s been dropping free singles from the album, such as “Free” featuring Homeboy Sandman & JJ Brown. And now, a few days ago, he gives you “Better”. It features Gift of Gab and Paul Dateh. The song sheds light on three separate individuals–all true stories–who overcame incredible hardships to make their lives “better”. A song of second chances and positivity. Below, read Illus‘ break-down of each verse…
