Von Poe VII – “American Ultra” video

California-based emcee Von Poe VII (@vonpoevii) dropped yet another music video from his latest album, The Purity of Love and War. Produced by Ruman, “American Ultra” is a dark song that covers themes of life and death, speaking on personal pain, losing loved ones, overcoming struggle, and striving for the best, all over a melodic beat that’s led by a somber piano and head-nodding drums.

What I love, and have always loved, about Von Poe’s music is his ability to convey deep thoughts and personal stories through powerful poetry. He has an intelligent way with words, his imagery is impeccable, he makes me feel something every time, and his flow is always tight. This song is no different. The video, shot by him, was filmed in his hometown of Perris. It was inspired by the people of the Inland Empire area, as he captures the memories he had growing up. Cameos from fellow Organized Threat members Koolz One and Sonny Sev. Watch below.
