If you’re not hip to Anya Kvitka yet, you need to slap your wrist. Forreal. This girl is great, and everything she touches turns gold.
Watch her new music video, directed by Brandon Van Auken, for a song called “Gone Baby Gone”. Anya channels some reggae flavor into her singing style, over a grimey beat by Hippie Sabotage. Check it out…

I can’t get over how good this song, and video, is. Everything Anya touches is gold, f’real. Watch the video for Dirtbag Dan‘s single “Alive”, featuring Anya. The contrast in voices, and delivery, between Anya and Dan is so good. And the story of a long distance love, yeeeeeah, I’m diggin’ this song big time. It’s the fourth and final installment of the “Dirtbag Dan Self Help Tapes“, and you can get it over here, along with the single “Pac Man” featuring Frank Stacks. Don’t sleep!

After posting “The Call” and “Summertime” in the past, C-Note finally dropped his anticipated album “Keepin’ It 100“, on November 5th (presented by Open University). This is his debut release and it’s fire… and FREE. The Cali producer whipped up some ill beats and pulled in an arsenal of SJ heads (some who are familiar around these parts) to spit on the mic. Guest appearances from those such as Nordy Derk, Simple Mind, Edgewize, Matty Slims, Dem One, Noah Deeakili, Sub Ren, Rey Resurreccion, Anya, Opski Chan, Koncept, Dirtbag Dan, and many others. Actually, the last track on the album, “Open University”, features a lineup of 9 artists. Blaow! Doing it big.
If you’re not familiar with C-Note yet, this is your chance to listen to his production capabilities. Get to listening and then hit that download link.

By the way, you should know Anya by now.

I just recently got put up on Soapbox Melodics. I came across the video for their 2009 track, “Nevermind“, and marked it to “Watch Later” on youtube. Started watching it this weekend and was really feelin’ the style and sound. And Anya‘s (the gorgeous girl in the image above) soulful and alluring voice pulled me in. Created in 2007 by Anya and Dirty Nate, and joined by another member named Darby, Soapbox Melodics is a hip hop crew from the Bay Area (San Francisco). They incorporate other styles into the hip hop groove such as downtempo, soul, jazz, and funk. The music is incredibly appealing to me, so that’s why I’m here sharing it with you!
