Starving Raptors is a New England charity-based, indie hip hop promotional company. One of their latest projects is in collaboration with Headhat Records, a record company in NH, where they put together a 66-track compilation and titled it “Headhat For Cats (And Other Animals)”. This compilation is available to purchase, and 100% of the proceeds will go to New Hampshire’s Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (NHSPCA). You will find a variety of hip hop from artists such as Pip Skid, Ceschi, MC Nobody Cares, K-the-I, Kid Presentable, Zucchini Drive, Birdapres, Nomad, PT Burnem, Geneva B, MC Homeless, Speed Dial 7, Factor, Ira Lee, Nomar Slevik, DJ Emoh Betta, Brzowski, and a lot more. Other than helping cats be happy, you can’t beat the price — $5 for a lot of music. And, although I’m allergic to these felines, I strongly urge you to do yourself, and the animals, a huge favor by streaming the compilation and then buying it. It’s an excellent collection, don’t sleep.

Yesterday, N.VS dropped a music video for his single “First Song”, from his upcoming album, “Focus“. The video starts off with N.VS sitting in a horse’s stable, where he lays bars over a soulful beat. Despite the title of the song, this is actually the outro on the album. “Let this be the first song that I write, the last song that you hear, the only song that I like.” This short song sheds light on his ups and downs, as he reminisces what he’s been through in the recent year. Video directed by Artistic Outlet Media. “Focus” will be available in early June, so keep your eyes and ears open for that.
