Aaron Armstrong, better known as KuroiOto (“Black Noise” in Japanese), is a beatmaker from Lansing, MI music collective BLAT! Pack. He recently released his fourth EP, “The May 3rd EP”, which he dedicated to his girlfriend and muse on their anniversary (May 3rd). Described as “An affectionate mosaic of original poetry, beats and sampled offerings diving into his fondness for her energy,” KuroiOto delivers a project rich in audio texture: the theme of love sets the basis for impassioned lyrics, poems and dope beats. KuroiOto put together this 6-track EP with his love in mind, yet he also “reminds us how it feels to be under love’s immaculate spell.”

Named after the Greek word for “what is hidden,” the mission of the EP is to reveal what’s hidden within the beats and rhymes.

LUNATIK, Ghost13, Chize and Frantz Mza make up the experimental hip-hop ensemble that is SilentHand. The team of emcees (LUNTATIK and Ghost13) and producers (Chize and Frantz Mza) come from different cities along the east coast but are based in Miami. The “Band of Misfits” use their real life experiences, fantasies, Anime and Kung Fu flicks as inspiration for their music. Their cinematic video for the track I’m Leavin, presented in part by Pedro Films features Arabic Space Samurai, Holographic GPS displays, a Sexy Indian Chick and Mysterious Tiki Man thrown in for good measure. They’re definitely not your average hip hop group, but it works. Check the video out after the jump and see for yourself.

New music from Andrew David featuring RJ Zarate. Released April 18th 2012, I’ll Take You There is “a song for the ladies who didn’t care for love after a broken heart or two.” Posted as a “name your price” track on Andrew’s Bandcamp, the smooth track mixes R&B, hip hop and as we’ve come to love, just a little taste of Andrew David’s sense of humor ['cause he is so dumb, he is really dumb for real].

Terusha presents her latest track and music video for Aozora (Blue Sky), which utilizes a Kenmochi Hidefumi beat. She kinda reminds me of an early Miliyah Kato on this track. Check it (and download) after the break.

Perry Porter of Sleep Steady and French producer ICBM released their collaborative digital album “Paper Moon” on March 31, 2012 and thus far, the project has been met with positive reactions. Produced entirely by ICBM, Paper Moon features guest appearances by CARLisDEAD, Grace Kelly, Veepee, Anthoney “Hot Ham” Williams and RaceceR with Perry Porter describing the album as “a tale through the mind of his younger self. Paper symbolizing money while the Moon is a desired location in ones own mind.” Sounds interesting. Perry asked me if I’d be up for reviewing the album, and being that I liked “Apollo 11″ and “Lucid Dreams”, I said sure. So let’s get to it.
