From her Facebook page, Lianne La Havas says she’s “Nothing like Corinne Bailey Rae or Andreya Triana, but we all have similar hair.” True, and they all have beautiful voices. Lianne (pronounced lee-ann) is a 22-year-old songstress, with smooth-like-melted-butter vocals and a guitar, that resides in London. And she’s currently on tour with Bon Iver.
Let’s talk about releases now, shall we? On November 22nd, she dropped a 5-song EP called “Lost and Found“, with independent label Labour of Love Records. It’s a collection of “urban hymns” that float between love and heartbreak. Her voice is so dream-like, and sultry, it’s as if she’s singing sweet lullabies — not enough to put you to sleep, but to get you feelin’ at ease. Watch the music video for her lead single “No Room For Doubt”, featuring Willy Mason. Then watch the video of her performing her love-ain’t-nothing-but-a-number song (about her older boyfriend) called “Age” on Later… With Jools Holland.
She also performed an intimate set of songs at the Los Angeles Hotel Cafe and released a live EP from that session. All the songs from it can be streamed below, and can be downloaded for free at her website.
“Don’t Wake Me Up”
“Forget”
“Gone”
“Tease Me”
What’s she doing now, other than touring with Bon Iver? Lianne is in progress of recording her full-length debut album with Matt Hales (of Aqualung).
Hit up her website to check out tour dates, and all of that good stuff. She’s also blogging while on tour, over at Tumblr.
