Meet Enzo Tiano. He began life in the Philippines, then moved to Los Angeles when he was 15-years-old. He was influenced by artists such as John Lennon, David Bowie, and Thom Yorke, and soon began to grow a true love for music and songwriting. Shortly after starting his first band, Paraventure, he put music on the backburner and focused on fashion design for a year. After the switch between the two, he realized that his heart was in music — he wrote solo music and joined the band Twin Falcons. In January, Enzo released his first free solo EP, “Suspicious Characters” under the name Poster Child. The 5-track album dives into the mysterious mind and world of George Orwell’s “1984″.
Fast foward to later this year, where he created an electro-pop solo project called Red Eye Fugu (which is a hard-to-catch Japanese fish). A couple weeks ago, on September 10th, he released the full-length album “Watchers“. It’s a 10-track album that’s marked with the “name your price” option, giving you the option to pay what you want.

If you’re familiar with Enzo already, you might not be surprised that the album travels through and embodies different elements of science fiction. It explores the paranormal, conspiracy theories, and cult followings. Listen to it as Enzo embodies a time traveler, a cult member, a truth seeker, and a horror movie fanatic. Enjoy the ride into the dreamy, alternate world he takes you through.
Tiano explains, “After hearing about Harold Camping’s failed prediction of the supposed end of times due date, I started getting ideas. I imagined being part of a cult who’s heavily devoted to a charismatic false prophet, believing that the world will end tomorrow. The lyrical venture is a split screen satire that focuses on what happens when they wake up the next day and still having to pay tax and mortgage”.
His first single, “Night Runner“, is now perfectly paired with a music video that was directed by Jhovany Quiroz. Inspiration for the feel of the video came from Quiroz’ own influence of David Lynch films. The song and the video both capture that of a man in search for something — perhaps himself.
To give the audience a peek into the inspiration of the video, director Jhovany Quiroz explained, “Night Runner was an exercise in organic film making with an emphasis on creating a visually stimulating experience directly inspired by the music of Red Eye Fugu. The ambiguousness of the project has much to do with the subject matter of the entire Watchers album, which dealt with ideas of the paranormal, conspiracy theories and cult followings. Inspiration really came from listening to ‘Night Runner’ and honing in on the mood that the track evoked and physically attempting to recreate that visually. I’ve been influenced by Darren Aronofsky and David Lynch visually and Gabriel Garcia Marquez otherwise.”
Red Eye Fugu‘s Enzo Tiano also added, “After watching a David Lynch film, three questions come to mind; One, ‘is there a meaning to all this?’ Two, ‘why do characters morph just when you’re getting to know them?’ Three, ‘what the hell did I just watch, a dream from a waking life or a memory that never happened?’ Collectively, the visual and lyrical inspiration for ‘Night Runner’ seemed to dash its way towards the obscurity of life after death and the acceptance of things we cannot understand.”
