Released just about two weeks ago, Jhene Aiko’s mixtape is really refreshing. Her sweet soprano voice blends incredibly well over heavy beats, and her choice of featured artists compliment her well. New video from producer Twit One. It features two tracks, “No Business/Latimer”, that are from his forthcoming album “Stepping Stones“. You might remember me talking about that, but in case you don’t, it’s a 10″ record that will be released on April 15th with Melting Pot Music.

Brand new video for the song “Change” from the Koncept & Tranzformer EP “More Than Meets The Eye“. The song also features Jefferson Price.

Do yourself a favor and listen to this track. “Flashback” is a song by the 7-piece band Fat Freddy’s Drop. Coming from New Zealand, they combine sounds of jazz, reggae, and soul. The song was released on their “Based On A True Story” in 2005.

The band has a show at the Brixton Academy, in London, on June 18th. “On The Road To Brixton“. In celebration of this, DJ Vadim and his band The Electric (Pugs Atomz, soulstress Sabira Jade, and Vadim) put their spin on the track. In January, The L.A. duo Seven Day dropped a follow up release to “Concepts” called “Concepts II“. It’s a collection of 12 tracks recorded in the last year. It features a bunch of artists from California such as Pistol Mcfly, Makeshift, Foci, VerBS, and others. March 29th marks the day that the Kito & Reija Lee “Sweet Talk” EP is out. Presented by Mad Decent, this will be the first EP from the Australian dubstep duo Kito and Reija Lee. Kito is behind the bass heavy, pop-infused production and Reija lays down the vocals. Sounds pretty good based on the 2 1/2 minutes I heard, so we’ll see how the rest sounds when it drops.
