Those Chosen: Act Like You Know0

Those Chosen is a hip hop trio from Southern California consisting of members Japetto, Kornbread and Foreshadow. They’ve performed at the Brooklyn Hip Hop Festival as well as A3C Hip Hop Festival last year, and have even been listed as one of URB Magazine’s top 25 artists to watch out for. Well recently, I was asked to give a listen to their some of their newest material and it just so happens that “Act Like You Know” was the one I decided to give a go. I was actually looking forward to hearing what the guys had to offer, considering their track record (no pun intended), but I was kinda disappointed. Maybe I was expecting to hear something that totally grabbed me, reading their press release, but I just wasn’t feeling this song like I thought I would. I’m not a fan of certain choice words as I’ve said before, so that could be the reason why the song wasn’t doing it for me.
The guys have great delivery, though and I will say that I did like the beat a lot. I’m definitely not going to completely count Those Chosen out, because I do feel that they’re not bad at all. I’d like to actually give their discography a good run through, just to see if there are different facets of the group’s music that I’d like. Maybe this track just wasn’t for me. Whatever the case may have been, lemme know what your thoughts are, I’m all ears.
