Moonsatellite just linked up with Moka Only to produce his new track, “Sweet!” (download). And now he brings you 3 new tracks. Each track is smooth and puts your mind into a state of ease. From the spacey vibe of “Blue Galaxy”, to a hint of funk in “Chinese Detroit”, and then you shoot off into the sky with the bugged-out “LAzer Sky”. Go ahead and listen to all three after the jump…

Making music is his forte. The first official Audiopixel project from Soap-Box and Myke Forte is finally approaching.
Audiopixel is a combination of music and art. The first project is the 4-track EP by producer Myke Forte, which was mostly created on the Roland SP-404. With the EP, comes a t-shirt and desktop wallpapers. The t-shirt design has the slogan “My Forte“, which reads “Myke Forte” when you’re in low lighting conditions. Cool! Creative idea by the good people over at Soap-Box (you might remember the interview I did with Daniel of SBW). Each garment is enclosed in a custom-made box which will be LIMITED to 50 pieces. I love everything about this project, all the way down to the box. The box is beautiful! Pictures and promo video after the jump…

Next up to plate is Depakote. Depakote is a beat maker from California. Being in his late-twenties, he was heavily influenced by the golden era of hip hop. In his high school years, he began writing rhymes, and not long after graduating, his life changed forever. He was hospitalized and diagnosed with Bi-Polar disorder. Seeing the brighter side of life, he went back to college and started recording hip hop music as a hobby. It evolved into something more than that, thanks to his friend Paul Kim, who introduced him to Fruity Loops and Reason. And from that point on, he’s been pushing out those hip hop beats. I first heard of him through the “Adventure On The Sun: The Music of Sun Ra” mix, and then I stumbled onto the “Isaac Hayes Tribute” instrumental album mixed by him and re:source. After that, I kept my eye on this guy… and now here we are doing an interview with him.
Depakote‘s latest album, “Gummo“, was dropped this year as a tribute to Harmony Korine’s 1997 movie of the same title. Download link can be found at the bottom of this interview, as well as the link to find his other projects.

While this movie was released in 2004, I just watched it last night. It’s 3 short stories of extremes, and each movie segment is directed by a different horror director, from different countries.
“Dumplings“, directed by Fruit Chan (Hong Kong). “Cut“, directed by Park Chan-wook (South Korea), and “Box“, directed by Takashi Miike (Japan).
I’ve seen a few Takashi Miike films in the last couple of months, and I’ve liked each one. I figured this would be just as good, particularly since it’s by three horror masters. And it was.

We’ve reviewed Jason James and Rodney Hazard’s collaborative effort God’s Favorites (here), and we’ve just finished an interview with Jason James himself (here), and now we’re back to give our opinion on his and Rodney’s most recent release, Marvelous World Of Color. The album is 14 tracks of free-for-download goodness, and Tiffology and I split them down the middle, so let’s just jump right into it.
First I want to say congratulations to Dibia$e for winning the Red Bull Big Tune Beat Battle in Los Angeles. Second, the man has been busy, busy, busy.
Within this year, he’s dropped that first record for the LA series with P.U.D.G.E. on All-City, he dropped the Green Llamas “Llamaville” project, and then the “Cakeology” EP over at Fat City Records. Next month, Dibia$e will be releasing an official debut album with Alpha Pup called, “Machines Hate Me“. His lead single, “Lumberjack“, dabbles in that psychedelic soul sound. Good as always.
