Just Like SISTAR0

Posted by - In Music

Lately I’ve been getting a lot of questions asked of me about how I feel about this new Kpop group or that new Kpop group. And to tell you the truth, they’re all pretty much the same to me, when it comes down to idol groups. Through not much fault of their own; all of the groups dress alike, sing similar sounding songs, and even cross promote in with each other and in similar ways, so I can’t really say I’ve been inclined to listen to any pop groups lately for the simple lack of the “IT” factor to make them stand out. Well, that changed a few days ago, when I decided to check out SISTAR, a new Kpop idol girl group under Starship Entertainment.

To tell you the truth, they’re style is EXACTLY like every other “hip pop” group in Korea at the moment (both girls and guys), but there’s something about them and how they rock this look that doesn’t make me want to barf bad 80′s hair band day-glo. Maybe it’s because their look is a little less eccentric? I’ll talk more about my girl-crush on their fashion sense later. Moving on to their music: their debut single “Push Push” is…very similar to everything out now as well…but for some reason I *really* like it! It’s upbeat, and great for summer. Also, I’m very impressed with the girls’ singing abilities in general.

Also, they’re supposed to be really good dancers as well. Over all, I just really like them. :) I just hope that their next single is a bit more down tempo to show off their voices…and that they slowly step away from the neons…please.

BTW, LOL I love the choreography in this video. ;)
