Greetings!4

Posted by - In Music

Sup, people. It’s been a while since my last music related post, and I thought I’d jump back into it with a little twist. I’d like to introduce to you all to the handsome fellow to the left; my little brother Chris (yes, he’s really my little brother). Going  by the moniker Malone , he’s been making music for a while now, but in true big sister fashion, I’ve basically ignored him and his shenanigans. However, yesterday I actually took the time to listen to one of his songs while he was editing the vocals. I gotta say that I’m pretty impressed!  So with that being said, I kinda want to know what you guys out there think. You know, being that we’re related and all, my opinion is completely biased (be it negative or positive) but I really do think he’s pretty good, so let me know your thoughts. After the cut, I’ve posted a few of his tracks, so check them out, vote in the poll, and leave some comments, mmkay?

Oh yes, one more thing before we get into the music/polling. Although I shouldn’t I’m going to give you a little bit of my opinion on the songs posted: Greetings is the song I mentioned above being the one that made me say “hey..he’s pretty good!” and as of now, it’s my favorite.  He Loves Me Not feat. Daisy was recorded earlier this summer and while I’ve heard it several times before, I never really listened to the lyrics until recently.  I like them both, but don’t let my words sway you.

Greetings

He Loves Me Not (feat. Daisy)

I’ve also discovered that in addition to these, he’s created a some pretty cool “musical stories”. I call them that because in my head, they’re a little more like listening to a chapter in a book than a song. It’s kinda hypnotizing to see him record because he actually takes on the character of the moment, and to me, it’s really amazing to watch. Anywho, yeah. Let me know what you think. Maybe I’ll post a few more up (if he lets me HAHA)!

When I first hit play, I was kind of surprised by the deepness of his voice. Haha. When I was listening to “Greetings”, I was thinking he sounded a little monotone, but after about 2 minutes, the way he sounds/rhymes, it fits him. And listening to “He loves me not” kind of changed my mind about the monotone comment. His tone is a little different, so yeah. I don’t know if monotone is the right word for it right now, but whatever… haha. He’s good though, Tiff.

I’m kinda shocked you never really listened to his music up until now. But that’s understandable, considering most of my family has never seen any of the art I’ve created. Haha. They don’t know my talent! But anyway, I like the simplicity of the beats, so one can focus more on what he’s saying.

LOL, Yeah, a lot of people are surprised by how deep his voice is. I think so too about the monotonous of his voice, but I think he did that on purpose. He did another song called Envelope, and he’s got a lot of different “personalities” in that one (literally).

Yeah, I’m a bad big sister in that regard. It’s not that I haven’t listened, but more that I haven’t been paying attention..it’s been background noise to me. HAHA but I think I’ll start paying more attention since I like these so much.

Thanks alot for your feedback! I’ll let him know. (also the beats are from soundclick–I love that site..lol I horde instrumentals from there always!) ~Tiffny

I had a good time listening to these tracks.

I really like them both. I could see myself rolling down the highway in my car with the top down, with these songs rocking in my CD player. Honestly. And I’m not that easy a sell.

If I had to choose one, it would be He Loves Me Not. I think it might be because of the combination: the piano feeds my classical bone, his voice and flow of words feed my R&B bone, and Daisy spices it all up. You really intrigued me by describing how your brother “takes on the character of the moment.” I’m a fiction writer, and putting myself into characters and living in their heads as I create them is pretty much my life, so Chris doing such a similar thing is ultra cool to me!

You’re a good big sister to have shared this. All the best to “Malone” and his future!

    Cheers,
    Stephe

Thank you Stephe for your kind words! I’ll be sure to pass it on to my brother. :) BTW, that’s cool that you write fiction! Also, I want to thank you for all of your support on my posts here as well as on HallyuHoneys! ~Tiffny
