I just wanted to share a video that I came across from one of Naeem Oba‘s twitter posts.
The Inuagural Truth&Rights Symposium, held May 31st, 2009 in anticipation of the launch of our publications The Volume and RootSpeak, brought together independent visionaries in the worlds of progressive artistic, social and political thought.
The Thai film Raging Phoenix (2010) looks ill-fucking-mazing. I’m totally feeling the blend of BBoying and Martial Arts {it’s a wonder why it’s taken so long to get the two together in a film} It stars Jeeja Yanin and stunt man and Team Tri-X member “Kazu,” aka Patrick Tang. I’m super amped for the release after checking the trailer.
Street art… with knitting! I love coming across creative street art, or anything creative for that matter. Have you ever seen a pole, or public monuments, bombed with a knitted, colorful “sock”? No? Me neither. The people of Knitta Please come armed with scissors, the stitched pieces that they’ve made, extra people to help tie/secure or give a boost-up, a person looking out for cars, and a getaway car. The Knittas include: PolyCotN, GrannySQ, and MascuKnitity.
Their pieces can be seen all over the world – Great Wall of China, in Paris, and even in the states. Pictures and a video after the jump…

I’ve finally joined the herd. BAAAAAA. Yep you guessed it, I’ve fallen into the phenomenon that is Twitter. At first, if you’ll recollect, I didn’t really get the hype…and man, oh man, I tried to hold off as long as I could, I swear to you I did. But every day became increasingly difficult to stay away due to the fact that EVERYBODY AND THEIR MOM {no joke} IS ON TWITTER! It’s hard to keep up with family and friends who don’t log into FB often…but you can bet they twit…tweet…update their Twitter regularly. Plus I figured..what’s one more “social” networking profile. Hell it can’t all be that bad…right?
So yes, I got myself a twitter. Follow me if you want. I warn you (or promise you) I’m not that interesting.
Seriously. I don’t know why, but those little tapioca pearls totally make my day. Yesterday I trucked all the way to Flushing Queens to get my hands on a cup of boba from Quickly (I ended up buying two cups LOL). I don’t know if there’s crack in them thar tapioca, but I’ve never craved a drink like I crave Bubble Tea. And Quickly has the best bubble tea in my opinion. Their tapioca is never too chewy, firm or bitter and they don’t use powder to flavor their teas. If you’ve ever had powder flavored tea after drinking Quickly’s, you’ll know what I’m talking about when I say BARF.
Hip hop artist, Stainless Steele (from Pennsylvania) has a new track titled, “The Last Hope”.
I don’t pay attention to Drake, but if you do, you might recognize that Stainless spit over the beat from the same titled track from Drake. Three+ minutes of headnodding material. Quality tune. Listen to it after the jump…
